[ Interesting, he seems to think, able to detect that mechanical drive, and really, one might presume that this is a natural moment wherein everything is chill, or whatnot.

Then, Hansa opens his mouth.

.....the look on Anaxagoras' face cannot be put together in mere words, after hearing Hansa's nonsense. He is SO tired. ]

Yes, I would.

Turn your head just so, hold still, and I will gladly leave a mark right on your face.

[ Anaxagoras will pointedly raise one thin fist. Isn't he so frightening, Hansa? He may have fists of fury ready to fly, don't underestimate him. What kind of routine or nonsensical banter is this...? ]

...to think that the capability of performing a miracle would land into our laps. I trust you won't be doing some kind of odd jig with far too much enthusiasm? Or perhaps I should anticipate that level of nonsense as well?

[ Anaxagoras' curiosity brims at the little bit at the lighter tone within that desire, the joy that has him blinking twice, tilting his head.

...as for him, his own seems to remain the same. Yet, within that whirlwind, there is something strangely fanciful, but bright and lively. A hint of whimsy, almost?

Outwardly, he just folds his arms, though. ]

Hmph. Good.

[ Not to doing the jig for free. ]

...To be perfectly honest, I wasn't anticipating any of this. It's not something I will be jumping ahead to use as I please. However, using something that can have dire consequences is not unfamiliar to me.

In addition, I don't suppose you're feeling anything odd, are you? It seems I'm able to glimpse some aspects from you. A passion comparable to a mechanical engine, an unyielding, untamed drive...and those are just a few.

[ You were concerned, Hansa. No need to hide it! Not like Anaxagoras would be any better here, because of how he initially went about this with the fussing...it's fine.

Not that either of them ended up making sane choices in the end, chief of Anaxa's daring leap into the water. ]

It sounds like you've some criticism for my methods.

[ Or perhaps a little bit of worry, hm?

...

Oh. Hansa pointed that out. Is...it related. ]

...Was I? Hah, it could have come from anything. It doesn't have to be in the now. Possibly. [ The drawbacks of being someone who enjoys performances rather strongly...or perhaps instead of drawbacks, it could be joys? It's too silly for him to be silly! Ah well... ] While we're speaking on the subject of whimsy, I noticed there was also something joyful, illuminated by a spark - as if sourced from a hidden playfulness.

Perhaps these feelings we're sensing from one another are integral to our souls. [ He raises a hand to rest on his own chest. ] A part of our entire being that can be obvious or hidden away from someone's gaze. A piece of our core self. Tsk...at least if so, it's better a complete stranger doesn't glimpse it, hm?

[ It's a bit late for that. Anaxagoras is ever so slightly tilting his head as Hansa's words trail off, examining his reaction closely because of course he is going to do exactly that. ]

...I see. So, it is like that, hm?

[ A slight questioning lilt to his tone, at first. Which can feasibly mean anything, right? Yet, if it is not simply criticism, then it is pure concern.

So, he watches the other copy his own gesture, but he is not bothered by that, either. Playful, a free spirit, and yet clearly thoughtful all the same. ]

Hmph...saying things like that.

Once again you sound ridiculous. Yet, as you might have guessed by the words I just spoke, I'd rather have not done this with someone who wouldn't be adventurous enough to jump into a well with myself. [ That is not what he said one second ago. ] There are also indeed those who could very well have exploited such an opportunity.

Perhaps, I have concluded that with your unique temperament, the likelihood has been hardly high for that in my case.

[ The true concern earlier indicated it as well. Does this mean he may be a bit fortunate, as the other is lucky as well? ]

Though, of course, it does go both ways. It's good I can know you as you know me.

[ It's nice when Anaxagoras isn't the only one being perceived here. He sees Hansa's reaction, unable to help from being curious in the slightest.

A pout on his face...it's a new expression. But, as anticipated, he watches as the other man recovers swiftly. ]

...They were words only spoken reasonably, and factually.

[ Mildly embarrassed that he spoke so candidly, even with such a nature like his own. He closes one eye in thought - was he really so eager? Perish the thought! ...Can Hansa even blush? Well, it is reasonably possible, given biological functions and all.

Bah, he dispels such thoughts. There is no reasonable reason why he could be dwelling on this. ]

Hmph. Naturally, I will say that I am naturally in agreement.

Just...don't think I'm about to be too or anymore sentimental about it. All comes back to some form of logic or reason, as far as I'm concerned.

[ But saying the things he has is at least a little self-indulgent for him, for now, because he can tell that sincerity.

As such, he hopes he has the chance to continue to know Hansa well. ]

[ ...Yet, he can detect that sarcasm a mile away!

Enough that Anaxagoras is even letting out a small, little 'humph' in the face of this, giving the other man a small Look all the while. He thinks he's gotten to know Hansa well enough that it's not necessarily unreasonable for him to make such presumptuous to believe he suspects he knows what it up.

...Which is true. He does. ]

A challenge, is it?

...I see even you realize that getting me to even come close to making such admittances will be difficult. Perhaps it's fortunate for you that I'm not a betting man.

[ A little bit of snark sliding in.

But, strangely enough, he thinks...a part of him might be curious if he can manage it. An odd amount of anticipation? No, it can't be; it'd be embarrassing if he even came to such a point. ]

...Hmph, you sound like someone I know, from back on Amphoreus. Or perhaps, not just a singular individual.

[ So, a mixture? A certain student of his and a certain Kremnoan Chrysos Heir enjoyed their challenges enthusiastically. The former was more of the type of person to mess around, like Hansa. All the same, the latter was all about challenges even more than the other. But, their personalities ultimately vastly different from the other man's. ]

But, it's the first time I've ever heard anyone call me charming. [ He looks away a little, a bit embarrassed. Quickly, he says: ] No obstacles?

You speak in that driven way.

As if even if the sky fell down, you wouldn't let it stop you. I'd say it wouldn't surprise me if you approached many matters that way. But, even now, it's a little novel to me somehow.

[ Next, he gazes up at the stars hanging above them, looking thoughtful. ]

...It depends on the particular day.

Both of them can get up to various nonsense. Although only one of them tends to like causing trouble.

[ Like Hansa. He doesn't sound too irritable about it despite his tone sounding exasperated nonetheless, though. Ironically as 'dramatic' is correct, he sees no reason to refute it, thinking about...well, the state of 'home'. ]

As for Faith... [ He's smirking as he says this; the irony of this being said to a 'blasphemer' is not lost. ] I suppose it does come in many forms. It can be a drive all on its own. I have witnessed it time and time again. When indeed the sky has fallen, leaving nothing but chaos in its wake. Holding true to belief when hope is lost...it is hardly logical, but it is reasonable.

You seem to speak as if you too have witnessed such turbulent times.

[ Though he seems to pause in his gaze on the sky, squinting at it. It's...changed again. ]

[ Yes, he does enjoy trouble.

Unfortunately, or fortunately. ]

...Perhaps.

[ Anaxagoras tends to take risks for reasons, but is it any surprise that he is more or less the type to find some exhilaration from it? Not incredibly so, mind you. But, there's also a reason why people like that tend to be on his radar. ]

War is never an easy experience - I have to wonder about the ritual that could cause such conflict. [ A small pause. ] I wonder if it might share similarities with the Flame Chase Journey.

Is it one in which will change the world as you know it? Or, are there other reasons for this ritual to have been started at all?

[ First he's talked about it, but they can trade war stories...? ]
anaxagoreia: (lxvii.)

[personal profile] anaxagoreia 2025-11-09 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Rules are made to be broken, Hansa. ]

...Selfishness jumpstarted it, then.

Many wars are begun the very same way. Others are simply dragged into the conflict, whether they wish to or not. I imagine your faction was, perhaps? Or they could have been willing?

[ Anaxagoras sees that Hansa is simply not happy about it regardless. He believes that it is likely the answer is to be the former, but he will not assume. Chances are high enough it can be the latter. ]

Regardless, some argued selfishness was the same way of the Flame Chase Journey. Though, objectively, there was merit to it. At least, in that those who took to it believed that they were saving the world.

But, in a way, there was still an element of selfishness to it. For quite awhile, someone behind the scenes desired a ridiculous result.

[ Since a certain someone was hoping all along to engineer it in order to generate a certain route. ]

[ The lines in HSR are so stuck in my head, it's unbelievable. ]

So, basically they were essentially acting like fools. Am I wrong?

[ Anaxagoras immediately deriding the people being exceptionally a pain because they may very well deserve it. His harsh kind of speech is unsurprising, ready to be deployed at a moment's notice.

As such, here too there would be the same here as he speaks the following: ]

Either way, this "someone" is one who donned the name "Lycurgus". Although his identity was a bit more complicated.

He is an individual who wished to use the Flame Chase Journey to ensure wide-spread destruction across a multitude of worlds. I presume I don't have to state what my thoughts on such a goal was in the first place.

[personal profile] anaxagoreia 2025-11-11 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Hmph. A pity that you need to still put up with their nonsense, then.

I'd say something about them learning the errors of their ways, but oftentimes people need quite a push.

[ Anaxagoras' expression does not necessarily show raw surprise as he considers the question, but he sure feels it.

Then, he smiles. It's small, a little...wry, he'd think. But, it's actually more gentle than he even knows himself. Maybe even a touch bittersweet, though not wholly sad - he's actually touched. He's made an expression like this before, when he accepted certain events have come to pass. Or he found his dromas plush he thought he lost. ]

...You would try to help? You do have your situation in mind.

[ ... ]

Still, I wish I could say at the time I had beaten that being's face in indeed. Though, I don't believe I quite managed it just yet. I also had reasons to leave it to the others.

[ Last he remembers, his own efforts brought certain results. Yet, in some ways it is a miracle he's standing before the other man right now. ]
