"Hello. This is Father Hansa Cervantes. I am always here to lend an ear for whatever troubles you want to share. Please leave a message after the tone!"

Yeah. Narrow hallway. Manifested while I was taking care of another one.
[He's passive as he recounts it. Not his first injury.
Seeing the thermos, he'll reach for it and push forward the first aid kit in exchange. He then reaches for the reason for the thermos:
An instant ramen bowl. What he's hungry]
no subject
Well, that's not fair. Looks like it didn't turn out too badly, if this is the only wound you have.
[He takes the first aid kit, moving to sit behind Jun so he can get into position to take care of it...but then pauses when he sees the ramen bowl.]
...Really. [Wow. He lets out a huff, finally sitting and starting to open the first aid kit.] Do you know how much sodium is those things? Making absolutely terrible choices here, Orden.
no subject
[he seemed sure of that. Sure he could've asked Leanne, but he had a feeling she'd fret a lot.
He gives a soft amused sound. ]
I don't eat like this all the time. I just don't have access to a kitchen right now. Well, a safe kitchen. Rather not deal with a manifestation while I'm cooking.
no subject
I see your point. Though you should be more like me. A cup of coffee will get you through most things.
[Even though he's behind Jun, one can hear the wink in his voice.]
No rest for the wicked, huh? And no rest for us, either.
no subject
Yeah, that sounds MUCH healthier, Father. I hope you get some food in.
[please eat cyborg man.
"Isn't that one in the same", he thinks, but doesn't voice]
Feels that way. I haven't made much progress in tracking the cause either.
no subject
[He replies, smirking, moving to get another piece of gauze to soak up as much of the acid as he can.]
Unfortunately, nothing can ever be that simple. It feels like we can safely say that the source is this wretched town, or whatever made it.
no subject
[he thought it was pretty good himself!!! ]
I figured as much. But we likely won't get out of this until it's dealt with. Still ... it's proving difficult to pin down.
no subject
[Tsk, tsk, Orden! He moves to the plastic bag he brought before, taking out a small water bottle, opening it to damp the gauze and letting the water clean off more of the wound. Sorry, you might get a little wet around the shoulders from it dripping, Jun.]
It is. Usually, worlds like this would have a "core" to them, you know? Destroy the core, destroy the source of power. But I can't locate something like that...I've been looking as hard as I can.
no subject
...Did I worry you?
[he sounds genuinely surprised in his tone, like it hadn't even fully OCCURRED to him as an outcome.
He flinches just the tiniest amount at the water, because yes he sure is getting wet. By this point, with enough of the acid cleaned out, Hansa might notice the edges of the injury already starting to heal up. It's not Wolverine fast, but it's certainly fast enough to see the healing happen in real time. ]
That's pretty close to how it works where I'm from. [The "core" tended to be a bigass monster, but eh. Details] Whatever rules over this place is good at hiding itself, if neither of us have had luck. We'll need more information, I only pray we get leads before it kills us all.
[Because you know, that'd really suck]
no subject
[Said ever so deadpan - YEAH. HE WAS WORRIED. BINCH.]
[He pauses, squinting at the healing, but he won't mention it for now.
Well, apparently, death isn't permanent in this world. Killing us isn't the point...or rather, it can happen, but perhaps our misery is the thing this world wants most of all, above everything else.
no subject
[Yeah he can tell that's a joke. Father Hansa really is a nice guy. It's a little surprising, honestly.]
Death isn't permanent... [that's..troubling. But he guesses makes things easier for him] There are things that feed off misery, so you might be right.
no subject
I think its a theory for now, at least. [Having dabbed it off as much as he can, he draws the gauze back, looking over the wound.] Want me to put a bandage on this, or are you just going to heal it yourself?
no subject
Bandage, please. It'll heal soon, but I don't want dirt getting in it.
[It's always a bigger hassle if the injuries get dirty.]
Thanks again for doing this.
no subject
[Bandage time! He's going to choose a big patch to try to cover it as best as he can.]
Eh, I don't do this stuff for free. You have to repay me.
[A beat.]
Get me a cool coffee mug from the store and we'll call it even.
no subject
His back is to Hansa so he can't see his face, but he's sure wearing this face. SCHEMING...]
Haha, okay Father. I'll do that.
no subject
You'd better. Else I'll just leave you for dead, next time.
[He pats Orden on the shoulder.]
Anything else? You aren't hiding any other injuries that you think you can deal with?
no subject
Understood.
[He doesn't sound all that worried about it. ]
No, that was the only one. [....] Jun. That's my name.
1/2
[..............wait a second.]
2/2
[...]
[Well, well, well. Hansa lets out a laugh, ever so pleasantly surprised.]
So the holy warrior was a mystery club member the whole time! Kids these days really do have a lot of time on their hands, haha!
no subject
Haha, yeah. The mystery club part was true. More or less, at least.
[He just left out many many details]
no subject
[Jun, high school student by day, holy vigilante by night. Makes sense.]
I'm guessing they're not, unless they do the same thing as you.
no subject
[He shrugs his shoulder, turning his body so he can see Hansa. Also gonna open up that ramen lid and start stirring the noodles with his chopsticks]
Took awhile though. It was a year and a half before they figured me out.
no subject
[He smirks. Ah, teens would accept that, he thinks...]
Surprising that they would allow you to attend high school. The Church, I mean. I never did anything like that when I was younger.
no subject
[He totally assumed he'd lose his friends the moment the cat was out of the bag. The fact it's been three months and hasn't happened yet blows Jun's mind. He was thankful]
Haha, I think that was more thanks to my client than the Orden. I was commissioned by the Japanese military to assist them, and I suppose they took issue with the idea of a minor not being in school. [Military sure loves rules and order after all]
Once we finish cleaning up some odds and ends, I'll probably be sent on another mission elsewhere. Who knows if I'll be in school again.
no subject
[whaaaaaaaaaaaat]
[His eyebrows raise as he gives the other a fairly surprised look.]
Well, its not like I haven't heard of the Church selling out before, but you'd think they wouldn't just give away a prized fighter just like that... [A shake of the head.] But that sounds about right. It sounds like your role and mine are almost one and the same. I'm the type to go on odd jobs, too.
