[ A small huff escapes this man, and he places one hand on his hip. ]

You're about as subtle as a boulder in full view tumbling down a mountain. I imagine others have told you that before, hmm?

[ But, he pauses to consider the other matter. It's a little odd to be talking about his students here, and yet it feels appropriate. As he speaks again, the no-nonsense tone follows, with a smidgen of lightening in there (do not @ him in this, or do.) ]

It is not that they held feelings of dislike towards my person, despite the public's thoughts on my reputation. Rather, they simply know better. Anyone who claims themselves a teacher must ensure their pupils not blindly idolize them.

Otherwise, they will fail. How is one to claim to have learned much of anything when the time comes to prove that they have, and they shy away from debate with the one who instructed them?

[ ... Even in such matters back on Amphoreus - certainly not the Grove or Okhema - Anaxagoras would never have certainly thought he'd ever hear anyone call themselves as a small rock. ]

Ridiculous...

[ It is indeed revealing in his expression nonetheless, so he will simply file this away nonetheless. As it is, he's listening closely to him talk about his mentors, and then him segue back into conversation about his students. ]

...You'd be correct nonetheless. A worthy mentor cultivates a certain level of respect in their pupils.

I wonder, though, what kind of institution it was that you met such respectable mentors in? I imagine that those individuals must have been relatively unique themselves.

[ ...In order to bring up someone who talks like this and yet his talent is an Executioner? ]

[ ...

...The worst part is that he did kind of think it was funny.

Just a smidgen, but he's not going to admit it. Closing his one eye as if he pretends he doesn't see that expression for a moment as well because he's a grump, but after that, he's reopening it, listening well. ]

...Amphoreus does not have a Church, per say.

[ One day he may in fact ask about the Fate/ priests, it's fine!! There's still a moment of pause, though, seeing the bit of somber slipping in. He too lost much when he was young, and when he joined the Grove. He hadn't expected to find a potential commonality? ]

However, I can understand why you may hold such an unfamiliar institution in high esteem. It seems we have a few things in common...not only in being taken in by institutions when young after such heavy losses [ His voice is a bit more quiet? He would argue only thoughtful, if anything. That's all. ], but perhaps including proving a challenge for the mentors who were responsible for the rest of our education.

You do seem like you'd have been a handful.

[ Within the constellations of similarities, there are inevitable differences. But, is that not the nature of an individual? Such an interesting and refreshing dichotomy. What more will he discover? ]

It appears even if they "set you right", your mind seems to be clear. They haven't tried to place too many restrictions when having cared for you, I presume.

[ Anaxagoras has noticed this, if only because Hansa has given indications that he is not driven mad by such an institution. He has his own mind, while not entrenched in arrogance and a twisted self-righteousness hellbent on spreading delusion. Well, it's a preliminary observation still... ]

...Those in the Grove and outside of it considered myself a force of nature.

I pushed the boundaries of rules. I am not restrained in pursuit of the truth - which included revealing it as well, when I noticed all was not as I was taught. Keeping to the 'rules' and society's expectations would mean bending to them, instead of bending away. So you are correct in your presumption.

However, because of that, it is why I was not known as a Saint. But rather, as a Blasphemer. I'm certain you can imagine what that meant.

[ "Blasphemer."

"Anaxagoras the Foolish."

Despite the way he answered, he does not seem affronted or saddened. Maybe inspired despite his difficult nature and difficulties. Anaxagoras may always be facing down his demise in the end, in every scenario of his future, but he is unafraid. ]

[ It's a little ironic, isn't it? Anaxagoras never figured he'd ever hear anyone say such words outside of his little group of students - or even one or two of the other Chrysos Heirs.

He'd even thought saying such a thing to a man who is clearly religious risked turning out for the worst. Yet, he refused to hide from spelling it out.

"Like"...the way Hansa states it is neither slimy nor mocking; he hadn't thought he wouldn't mind hearing it. ]

...Is that so? You don't sound too troubled by the thought, Hansa.

[ His words sound a little snarky, but even if Anaxagoras can be rough around the edges, there is an evident lightness in his tone. If Hansa squints, a faint, tiny smile, even if it is not going to last long. ]

I hope you realize that it's been awhile since anyone has given me anything like a remotely positive review of any sort. That few have have said that they like a Professor such as myself. [ Confirming he is one! ] However, be it as it may, it is refreshing to speak with someone who understands.

Do realize I don't make much a habit in getting along with others. But, I suppose I wouldn't mind it too much if we continued...to converse. To meet up. Be in accord. It's rare that I find someone like yourself; even rarer still when it is someone who is devoted to religion, but isn't unpleasant or insufferably narrowminded.

As it is, I will also say your sense of judgement is correct, with as little bias as possible. [ Of course he would. ] Even if I suspect your colleagues would writhe in frustration hearing you hold such a pleasant conversation with someone like myself, hm?

[ So in the end the sentiment is, in actuality the same. Anaxagoras himself just doesn't go around saying that he likes people. But, this is truly him effectively saying so. ]

[ If Hansa ever says that Anaxagoras is fond of him, he will wither and die on the spot.

But, he is right. From him sharing in his own way such sentiment, and being quite difficult in the way he shares such amicability. Also related is how he seems to be giving this careful thought. An offer of help from a troubled man; somehow, that seems quite acceptable to him. ]

Bear in mind that if I call upon you, I am the type of person who will never hesitate to run straight into danger in order to gain answers.

Though, you don't strike me as an individual to fear much.

[ Putting out the presumption, just curious about what Hansa would say to that. He is an Executioner, probably has cut short more lives than can be estimated, depending. That being said... ]

...Either way, you shouldn't have to worry much about that. I'm not the type of person to change so easily or fear change in reputation. [ A smirk. ] You should know, people will think what they will, as always. Between your uptight, traditional colleagues and some who would 'writhe in frustration' being called my own, as well as who else, why not let them all think what they will? It could prove to be a little entertaining, yes?

[ ...Anaxagoras is set to perish in real time. But, this is his fate, so please feel free to unleash it on him when he least expects it. ]

Hahaha! A leash? That's an amusing way to put it. [ Sarcastic or not, he finds the sheer idea of being held back, hilarious. ] Fortunately, it just so happens that I do have something already in mind. We know so little about our situation and trust me when I say I loathe being ignorant, foremost of all.

[ He was originally going to go about things by his lonesome...but, maybe an actual pair of eyes on things, and someone else to maybe keep a leash him from going too ham would be best. ]

...Well, it appears we've found ourselves in agreement, but perhaps that isn't surprising in this regard, above all others. Life is too short. Though, that's what makes such things all worth it.
