So you think its a possibility that this place has that kind of power available?
[A huff at that...but his expression suddenly turns very, very serious.]
...I've heard of wars being fought for a single wish, and I've seen a war for it with my own eyes. I pray to the Lord that it doesn't reach that kind of level, here. It shouldn't, with the amount of people we have, but...
Normally, I would say no... but the limitations of the Realm are different than the ones I'm accustomed to back home.
(There's a different sort of logic here. Ah, but the tone has shifted some and he stands just a little straighter at that, not enough that it completely gives him away but someone with a keen eye would be able to see that as relaxed as he is, he's actually quite alert,)
I think most wars are fought out of some sort of desire. Whether it be something material like resources or wealth or an ideal one feels is worth fighting for. (... He's quiet for a moment, recalling something,) Praying is all fine and good but it'll take more than prayer to make things stop. Conflicts started by people can only be stopped by people. Expecting some higher power to fix everything is lazy.
(He doesn't hate religion. He just dislikes idle prayers and blind faith.)
[That might come as some surprise to Claude, the way that Hansa lets out a cynical sort of laugh at his words.]
Man fights on the level of man. And its man's folly and sin that drive him to destroy others for their own needs. Is God involved in His own way? Of course. But in the end, even a priest like me can't exactly move mountains, and those who actually can aren't even part of the equation.

You know, you're probably the most interesting priest I've ever met.
(To be fair, the bar is pretty low. Glances at Seteth. )

[That's 1000% a joke.]
