[ It's Monday night, and after seeing that note about the mermaids, Jeanne wants to investigate. Of course she does. She has to know exactly how dangerous it is, if the mermaids can be spoken to at all, or if there's no hope in it.
Well! The mermaids immediately try to drown Jeanne, biting and scratching and pull at her. She is a Servant and isn't some Caster who can't physically fight. The mermaids have environment advantage, but that's mostly it.
She wrests free, bit by by, but she's not all the way free yet.
[lol okay jeanne you deal with that he'll just be over here scrolling through messages on his device, you do you]
[..................................actually, no. Hansa blinks with stunned surprise as he sees Jeanne in the midst of horrific looking sea creatures - wait, these are the mermaids? The priest shakes his head like he's spotted a mirage, but within a second, he's racing towards the monsters, hand outstretched.]
Saint Jeanne-!
[He's going to try to grab hold of her arm to just wrench her out of the grip of the mermaid as best he can.]
[ She's going to kick one of them away as best as she can before she grabs Hansa's hand, gasping slightly, and doesn't resist when he wrenches her out. ]
Thank... you...! I didn't think it'd go that poorly.
[ Maybe she should have thought it through a little more? ]
[He could just go for the punch right now, but his primary thought is getting her out of this mess. The last thing he wants is being That Priest who let Jeanne of Arc of all people die at the hands of these weird bird fish things.]
You can't be that trusting... [The mermaids REALLY aren't happy - they're reaching for their deserved prey - but Hansa is backing away quickly, shifting his arm to keep Jeanne close.] Where's your sense of caution?
I guess, but if I wasn't here, you'd be pretty much mermaid chow.
[...Should he be saying things as casually as "mermaid chow" to a literal saint? Maybe not. Hansa lets her kick free, releasing his grip so that he can turn back to the mermaids - but they're already receding into the water, their eyes almost burning with hatred at the fact that their prey got away. He lets out a huff - ah, well. Next time, he could face those things.]
Next time, you really should have someone spotting you before you pull off something like this.
[Well, she's right. She's a Servant. If she wanted, she could easily tear her limb from limb. Her power is far beyond his - in the end, he's just a human weapon made by man. Heroic Spirits are on another level entirely.]
I won't. [He doesn't just apologize to anyone, but...] My apologies.
Thank you for your concern. I will admit I should have tried something else first, but I am not someone who's never seen battle. Mermaids are not what will kill me today or tomorrow.
[ She may no longer have all the powers afforded to a Servant and especially of a Ruler, but she is a Heroic Spirit for a reason. ]
I have something I must return to and that I must see through. Please don't think I will throw my life away so easily.
[ His reaction makes her smile a little. It's a little amusing that he'd be so thrown off by that combination when there's no doubt just abnormal situations with his war. ]
Yes. He is all three. He was a Servant from the previous Holy Grail War, and he had the means and a way to become part of the church and find a catalyst for the current war.
[ That's as much as she could extrapolate from her revelation and from her first meeting with him. ]

I am a Ruler. If there is trouble, I must see to what extent. Is it not better for a Servant to investigate?
[ so what if they’re all nerfed? she is still who and what she is.
she kicks free easily now that it’s hansa who has a hold on her and not the mermaids. she’s no saint. ]
I knew they were aggressive, but the note did not give detail. Now, I will update it so others may know.

I would have been fine.
[ She's firm in that. She may be more scratched up, but she would've been able to get free. ]
Please don't underestimate me.

[He's already seen that Servants are still powerful here, but he can't help but think that even they must be limited, somehow.]
...Is that something you have to return to your Grail War?

Please believe me when I say it's not my goal to treat this body without care.
[ Even if mermaids make her seem reckless. ]
I have to see through to the end of the decision I've made. I have to stop someone's wish from being realized.

[Hm?]
A Master's wish?

An overseer from the church and a Master.
[ A beat. ]
And a Servant.
1/2
2/2

[How does that even WORK?]
[Hansa mutters, something probably like "really? REALLY?" but he just heaves out a sigh. Things could be weirder. Things could always be weirder.]
Who was the mage that was providing him enough mana to survive past a Holy Grail War? You can't tell me he was supplying his own mana, somehow.
