[After cleaning up, Rufus exits the inn with the scratches still very red and fresh on his face. They don't appear to bother him as he walks the road, his hands shoved in his pockets, with Rupe trailing obediently behind him.]

...Hm?

[He blinks at Rufus as he walks past, making him pause in place. Hey. Hey, that doesn't look too good...]

[He turns, walking alongside the other man.]

What happened?

[soulus]

[Rufus doesn't slow down at all.]

I woke up.

[robopriest]

...To your face, Rufus.

[COME ON]

[soulus]

I just told you.

[robopriest]

What did you sleep on, a pillow covered in spikes or something? You just woke up like that?

[soulus]

Yes.

[robopriest]

...

[Just. Glances down at the catwolf.]

[soulus]

[He can practically hear that accusatory glance.]

He wasn't with me.

[robopriest]

Where was he, then?

[soulus]

The inn.

[robopriest]

And where were you, if not there?

[soulus]

I wonder.

[robopriest]

...Do you not know?

[robopriest]

I have some info about the kitchen, yes.

Was something there?

[robopriest]

Yes. Two dirty bowls left in the sink, and an open cereal box. Apparently cereal was found in the planetarium, too.

[soulus]

And the bowls?

[robopriest]

Filled with the remnants of coffee.

[soulus]

. . . The railroad station.

[robopriest]

[A smile spreads across his face.]

That's not a good place to sleep, Rufus. What were you doing up there?
